Marvin Neil Simon war ein US-amerikanischer Dramatiker und Drehbuchautor. Neil Simon war einer der populärsten Dramatiker der Vereinigten Staaten. Seine leichten Komödien haben durch ihre Verfilmungen und ihre Übersetzungen in zahlreiche Sprachen weltweiten Erfolg. Simon galt als Autor für das so genannte Boulevardtheater.
